Health Tips : Post Pregnancy

  • After giving birth, three out of four women develop Diastasis Recti. Diastasis Recti is when the right and left sides of your abdominal muscles separate because of the pressure of the growing fetus or pressure during delivery. The separation of muscles does not automatically go back together after the birth and if the problem is left untreated, the abdominals will not give the proper support resulting in low back pain and other problems. Normal sit-ups and crunches will not work, so Sport & Spine Physical Therapy has come up with a program to assist women with Diastasis Recti.
