Health Tips : Spring Season
- Annual spring cleaning rituals can cause personal injuries if you don't think ahead.
- Prevent Back Injuries: Plan your lift, don't be in a hurry, and get help lifting heavy objects. Bend at your knees and use your leg and thigh muscles, and keep your abdominals tight.
- Prevent Falls: When using a ladder, make sure you choose the correct height of ladder for the job. Standing on a ladder with poor posture can lead to sore back and leg muscles. Step down off the ladder and stretch every 15 mns. to 1/2 hour.
- Preven Cuts and Traumatic Injuries: Lawn mowers and gardening tools can be dangerous if not used properly or kept in good repair. Always wear non-slip shoes when mowing, and when walking behind your mower, be aware of your posture and head position. Adjust the handle on your mower so it is at waist height.
