Have you wanted to start running for a while but don’t know where to start? Perhaps you just need some guidance, someone who knows what they are doing and how hard to push you.
Sport & Spine is offering a free couch to 5k program led by therapists Michelle and Dennis. This program is designed to prepare you for the BK5K held during Steamboat Days on Saturday, June 17, 2017.
This program will last 6 weeks, from May 8th through June 14th. Sessions will be held on Monday and Wednesday evenings from 6:15 to 7:15, with our walk/run beginning from Sport & Spine each time.
This program is designed for beginners! It is ok if you have never put on a pair of running shoes, but individuals should be able to walk 3-5 miles at any pace before signing up. Come ready to run or walk so wear layers and tennis shoes. A blood pressure screening will be performed on the initial session.
It is advised that you consult with your doctor before starting any exercise program to ensure it is safe for your health.
